It has been a long time since I posted!! I guess the holidays got me all tied up, but I am back. I've been redesigning some of my website and hope that you find it a little easier to browse through and find what you're looking for. I have updated the Totes page (we ran out of stock on most of the fabrics we had pictured) and added a Fabrics page. Here you can check all the available fabrics so you can see and choose exactly what you want. These fabrics are also great for aprons, toasties, nursing covers & diaper holders. These scripture totes can be just as uinque as your personality! Have fun picking your fabrics (remember you need to choose 2 for the totes, one for the outside and one for the lining. The lining can also just be a solid color that matches the fabric you choose! Please make a note on the order page.).

California Utah Women's Boutique

I headed to Souther California to sell my stuff at the CUW. My trip to California was wonderful! It was amazingly easy to travel without kids! The flights were great and very relaxing and I even got to take a nap and read a book without interruptions!! It was fantastic. I had a great time and the boutique itself was a hit! There were so many people that came and I sold out of a lot of my stuff (capes, magnets, Halloween kits). I had a blast and can't wait to do it again. (Excpet for one minor incident with my tags and the lady in charge getting after me...).

Holiday Sticks

I am always trying to come up with new, fun, creative ideas for products to sell on my site. Well, today I was trying to think of a fun craft to do with my kids and in turn I came up with my next addition to Design By JaNece! Now, I know there are people out there who will say, "I can make that myself" and to those people I say "BAH". Then do it yourself. But for those of you out there who don't have time or aren't the crafty type, I have a cute product for you! :) Introducing Holiday Sticks!!! It is not complete yet, but it is in the making. It includes, craft sticks, a bucket and lots of fun ideas! This not only will look cute, but your kids will love it AND give them something fun to do and look forward to. EXAMPLE: Halloween- You will take a bucket of sticks enough for every day of the month (you could put candy in the bottom-like M&M's or candy corn) and then take one out for each day. So on the first day of the month, you choose a stick and read what it says on the back. There will be a craft idea or fun game to play or something they can do for someone else. On the second day, you take out another stick and do that activity, and so on and so forth until all the stick are out and then it will be HALLOWEEN. You can keep track of how many days left 'til Trick or Treating time. What do you think??? I had capes next on my list to make, but this just came to me, so we're going to run with it!!!! Capes will come next month, I promise.

Fabrics for Trick or Treat Bags

Small (recommended for your youngsters ages 2-6) 10 x 10 inches $6

Medium (age 7-10) 10 x 14 inches $7

Large (for those bigger kids who plan on neighborhood-hopping to get as much candy as possible) 12 x 14 inches $8

The small and medium have cute appliqued bats, spiders or ghosts (except for the cat's eye material, which is fun and glittery). They are washable, but I would handwash to preserve the felt appliques or glitter for longer lasting use. Use them year after year! Here are some samples of different bags I make. I made these for my sister's kids as library bags or bags to take to church to keep them entertained. I put little pockets inside to fit their library cards. I can make different size pockets inside or out. And embellishment's like buttons or flowers are added for just the right touch! It's a lot of fun to see different personalities in each of these bags. I have fun making them and can't wait to see what YOURS will turn out like. Email me if you'd like to order a custom bag (remember it's an additional $3 if you custom-size your bag, but email me your ideas and I'll work with you). Right now I don't charge extra if you make them MED or LG (bags in pictures are Medium and LG). They come lined (starting at $20) and unlined. In just a few short hours we will all be able to get our hands on the much anticipated "Breaking Dawn" by Stephanie Meyer. I don't know about you, but I can't stop talking, thinking and dreaming about Edward, Bella and (my fav) Jacob. I'm super excited to get my hands on the book and dive in. I am so excited to officially announce our new homemade scripture totes!! Perfect for holding your scriptures (standard size) and Sunday School/Relief Society Manuals with room to spare. Made of durable, cute, bright decorator fabrics with ties to keep it all together and a pocket on the side. They are multi-colored, with matching fabric lining inside. Each one is unique and has just the right touch of embellishments. $20 each. (If you don't find the colors or fabrics you want, I'll be happy to find what you are looking for, adding a small fee of $3 to the price. We cannot guarantee availability of all fabrics.) My sister wanted some library bags for her kids, so I can make any size of bag in any of the fabrics you find here or you can request something else (my nieces like dogs and horses and my nephew wanted tractors). So, if you decide you want a different size of bag, it can easily be adjusted to the size that you need. Add $3 to the price if you decide to custom-size your bag. I will gladly adjust the cost if it is smaller than the scripture tote and will factor in the embellishments/pockets you want.

NEW Velcro-neck for Aprons

We are excited to announce the new velcro neck for our Cute Cover Aprons. Now you simply attach the neck strap to the velcro on the bib. We think this will be the safest, easiest way to wear your apron. And it's easy to take off. We hope this improvement will help you and your little ones!

Apron Adjustments

I wanted to adress an issue we've been having with the SMALL size aprons. We've been making them to fit toddlers (2T-4T) and have found that the neck is too small for some, and a bit big for others. Since everyone is a different size and our little ones are growing daily, I thought I would throw a question out there...Would you like the neck to be adjustable? To adjust these aprons and not have the cost of them go up, I wanted to make them tie around the neck, just like they tie around the waist. That way you can make it so the bib covers your child's shirt w/out slipping down and you don't have to squeeze their head to fit through the neck hole. However, they will need your help getting them tied, and that may pose as a setback for some of you. If any of you out there have an opinon on this, I sure would appreciate your feedback. Magnets

For those of you wanting to order magnets and not really knowing what they look like or how big they are, I wanted to make it a little easier. They come in two sizes...1.5 inches (round or square) and 2 inches (round). The backgrounds come in all colors and designs, if you have a particular preference just let me know. To make it simple you can specify a particular color theme and then stripes, polka dots, flowers, plain or other (go into more detail). Also the list of sayings is below in another post or you can request whatever else you want them to say. There are numberless choices of fonts, so unless otherwise requested, I will just do the font that fits best with the saying. They are heavy duty and can hold things in place or just look cute. I am hoping to get some smaller magnets and will update you when those are ready!

Hi! I am excited to tell you about the products that I offer. I make them all myself from my home and I really enjoy doing it! I hope to add many more items, but since I'm a one-man-band, here's what I have so far...

MAGNETS-I make magnets with differnt quotes or sayings and fun backgrounds. They come in 2 sizes (LG and Jumbo) and start at $2 each (Jumbo are $3 each). They are very good quality magnets and can be custom made to say anything you want. These magnets are called "STICK-UPS".
APRONS-I make kid-size and kid-friendly aprons. They come in lots of different colors and fun characters. Available in 1 size (small for 2T-5T ). They are $8. These aprons are called "CUTE COVERS". (If you would like a larger size, you can let me know and I can customize it to whatever size you need.)
HEATING BAGS- I make warm, aroma filled bags (approx. 16" long and 6" wide) that you can heat up in the microwave and reuse again and again. They also come in lots of patterns, colors and licensed characters. They are $6 for regular size and $4 for the mini. These heat bags are called "TOASTY TOOTSIES".
